our core purpose
At Formed For Christ Church, our core purpose is to bring people to Jesus for a new identity and unity in His family, develop them to Christlike maturity, equip them for their ministry in the church and the community, and to gather them to magnify God's name.

At Formed For Christ we use five key words to summarize Christ’s five purposes for His Church:
-
Magnify: We Celebrate God’s Presence and Relationship In Worship
-
Identity: We Communicate God’s Word and Life Through Evangelism
-
Unity: We Incorporate God’s Family and Faithfulness Into Fellowship
-
Maturity: We Educate God’s People Through Discipleship
-
Ministry: We Demonstrate God’s Love Through Service
our mission

BIRTH
When we receive Jesus by faith as our savior, we are born again. That's the initial stage (John 3:1-16; Cor. 5:17). Our sins are forgiven, we are justified in God's sight, the Holy Spirit resides within us, we become part of the family of God, and the growth process begins. We enter what Chip Ingram refers to as "God's Training Program" (Eph. 4:25-32), in which Paul fleshed out the threefold principles of transformation into five areas of spiritual training.
spiritual
maturity
The growth process leads to spiritual maturity (Phil. 1:6; Col. 2:6-7). This is the heart of our transformation process, when we begin to reflect the person and character of Christ. The fruit of the Holy Spirit grows in us, producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). Our attitudes, words, actions, and relationships take on a Christlike tone.
spiritual
reproduction
As we grow, we turn outward and serve others. We become part of the disciple-making process (Matt. 28:19-20; 2 Tim. 2:2). Just as humans and animals become biologically mature enough to reproduce, the works of God in us are reproduced in the lives of others as we spiritually mature. That doesn't mean we can't lead people to Christ and help make disciples immediately. He uses us in the process of birthing and growing other believers.
