​​Formed For Christ (FFC) Church was founded on a vision to reach people where they are, discipling and helping them discover and grow in their true identity in Christ. We are a new church plant, meeting in an easily accessible and welcoming, home-like space at the Wisdom Well Coffee Shop and Christian Boutique.
We recognized that our local Church and ministries would need to be led by elders and ministry leaders, not perfect, but growing as humble disciples who know who they are before God and choose to go lower by serving, submitting, listening, and confessing. Additionally, committing to biblical counseling and disciple-making.
Although we meet in a unique location, we remain committed to the core minimum aspects of a church:

Josh Creson
Founder, Teaching (Lead) Pastor,
Coach & Educator
Josh's teaching style is creative, conversational, practical, and encouraging, fostering a development-oriented approach. Passionate about reading, continuous learning, leadership, and growing, Josh attended graduate school at two Christian Universities. He received his Doctor of Strategic Leadership (DSL), with a concentration in servant leadership, from Regent University and a Master of Executive Management and Leadership degree from Liberty University.
Josh is a veteran of the US Army, having served both as an enlisted member and an officer, with overseas assignments in Iraq with the 82nd Airborne Division and other units in Egypt, Israel, Kosovo, and Germany.

Josh completed Life and Leadership Coach training through the Professional Christian Coaching Institute (PCCI) and the International Christian Coaching Institute (ICCI). He is a certified Biblical DISC® Practitioner with Lead Like Jesus and a trained Resilience God-Style® coach.

Josh also serves on the Adjunct Faculty team at Liberty University in the School of Business. He serves as an online professor and Doctoral Chair, assisting doctoral students in completing their DSL projects.
With the desire to exemplify and encourage Pastors to consider their role beyond teaching and equipping, but also as biblical counselors, helping Christians as they grow through the everyday struggles of life in a fallen world, Josh is currently attending certification courses in Biblical Counseling.
Josh and Melissa first met as children in the 1970s. Melissa always believed she would marry Josh, despite their paths not crossing again until almost twenty years later. Melissa and Josh have faced the challenges of coming to Christ later in life and navigating life's struggles. Josh and Melissa have been married for over twenty years and have two sons, Zack (23) and Aaron (19).
Josh and Melissa are residents of Harnett County, North Carolina, and have dedicated their lives to ministry and the profound mission of helping people find their identity in Christ. Their church organization, Formed For Christ Church, serves as the framework through which they fulfill this mission. They firmly believe that our current living generations could witness Christ's return. In this crucial time, they advocate for faith and standing firm on God's grace and truth rather than fear.

Melissa Creson
Women's & Children's Ministries Director and Wisdom Well Manager
Melissa initially worked in the medical field at a young age, training to become an ER nurse, until she severely hurt her lower back while assisting a patient. However, it was through this injury and many other life struggles, as well as her turning to Jesus, that she discovered her passion for teaching preschool. Melissa served on the preschool team staff at Lake Ridge Baptist Church in Virginia for nearly ten years.
Melissa received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Educational Ministries from the same institution.
Melissa and Josh also own Wisdom Well Coffee Shop®, which features a Christian Boutique and bookstore, formerly known as Faith2Soar. Melissa works full-time at Wisdom Well. She is talented in crafts and customizing gifts and other items. Melissa is the self-taught master of custom Bible imprinting at Wisdom Well Coffee Shop® and Christian Boutique and continues to add skills and services, coming soon!
With their boys grown up and embarking on their journeys in adulthood, one is enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, studying marine biology, and the other is pursuing a career in welding, she looks forward to discovering where God will lead her to serve in Formed For Christ Church, Wisdom Well, and the local community.

Melissa and Josh share similar desires for being welcoming and open to everyday conversations and relationships that draw us closer to God, our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Spirit, all of whom change us to become more like Jesus in our character, love, and service.
